the other day I walked into our office as the girls were helping Drew add prayer notes to our prayer wall.

I started reading the added prayers our girls requested to put on the wall and one of the sticky notes said “flowers and shirts” and I was like “awww that’s cute! Flowers and shirts?!”

And Drew smiled and said “so Sadie picked a story from The Bible the night before about how God clothes the lillie’s of the fields and I was explaining what that means. How God clothes the flowers of the fields with colors and He does the same for us with how He provides clothes and what we need and how we don’t need to worry about things like our clothes because He gives the flowers colors and so does He give us colors of clothes and I was showing her the pictures of the flowers and the shirts and so when I asked her who and what she wanted to pray for— she said “that they for to have flowers and shirts!” (we’re working on grammar but she likes to add “for to” in a lot of her sentences”)

And I of course about cried. Because that’s childlike faith. That’s hearing what Jesus is telling us in His Word, believing it without doubt or question, & then doing it. & that was conviction for my soul to TRUST my Father when He promises us He will take care of us.

& for Sadie— that’s praying for others to be provided for like the lillie’s of the field and knowing God has them covered like He has us covered. And I desire that childlike faith so much.

Our kids just keep us accountable & show us how to have it. what a privilege and how undeserving drew & I are to take care of these babes!!

“And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?”
